The second in our series of summer 2008 events. Colin, Shaun, Michelle, Julie, Louise, Michelle & Martin took part in our group running for Brenda. The Leeds 10K Run-For-All took place through the centre of Leeds and had over 11,000 competitors running this year. After an early start (getting up at 6.00am), we arrived at Millennium Square bright and early at 8.00am ready for the warm up. Well, to be absolutely honest, we watched the other competitors warming up! then, at 8.45am we made our way down to the starting point on The Headrow and after a round of applause for the memory of Jane Tomlinson, we passed the start line a few minutes after 9.00am. Colin & Martin were first to finish an hour later, followed by Michelle. Julie, Louise, Shaun and Michelle followed a few minutes later. We relaxed back at the holding area for a while before heading back to the car. We stopped off at Ainsleys bakery where the manager kindly gave us all a gingerbread man! Thanks!!! So after a long soak in a Radox bath and a decent meal we are all now aching and hobbling around with sore muscles and looking forward to doing it all again the same time next year!
