After all the physical work of the Walk To D'Feet MND on the 14th of June and then the Leeds 10k Run-For-All on the 22nd June, it was a relief to be able to relax a bit... or so I thought! The Charity party night was an even bigger success than we could have hoped for. The Royal British legion in South Kirkby was packed out almost all night with so many familiar faces. Local DJ Tony Knowles provided the disco and soon got people up dancing and singing. Some of the bar staff were dressed for the occasion (as well as the local Abba tribute act down the road). We raised over £500.00 during the evening, including sales of the raffle tickets and some other fundraising ideas including the bar swear box, DJ request box, After Eight tombola and a donation from the Legion Committee from the proceeds of the night's bingo games. We drew the raffle at 10.00pm where Colin said a few words about the total raised so far and thanked everyone who has contributed to the charity. The winning raffle ticket numbers can be found below.
