Brenda Bates was born on the 29th of November 1941, the only daughter to Ted & Elsie Bates of 46 Carlton Street, South Kirkby. Brenda was the identical twin of a sister who unfortunately died at birth. Brenda had one older, and one younger brother (Brian & Colin respectively). Brenda lived on Carlton Street through her childhood years and attended the Common Road School in South Kirkby.
